Hi all.
I am trying to place text over a picturebox. I thought I coul do this by
making the textbox.backcol or property = color.transpare nt.
However this doesn't work (textbox doesn't support transparent backcolor)
and so I am wondering if anyone knows how I can do this.
I need to be able to put multiple lines of text over the picturebox, so
using labels won't do it.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about textbox but label does support transparent background and
it also supports multiline text.

I just had a look and cannot find a multiline property for label, are you
sure there is one?

It's multiline by default. The property editor doesn't support multiline
text, but if you pass a multiline string (containing "\r\n" per line break)
programmaticall y, it renders correctly.

Ok, it is a simple matter of assigning the value of the Textbox to a Label in the Picturebox. But VB.NET doesn't seem to support a Print method for the Picturebox.
How do I output the Picturebox (complete with its contents) to screen or the printer?

XP VB 2005 running an example from help that creates a picturebox in
code - the picturebox is not created.
If I comment out the "Dim Box as New PictureBox" and create it in
Design mode - the example works.
I have tried Show, Enabled, Visible, and even BackColor.
Why does a help example not work? and why does Design creation work?

I'm writing a program that displays a user-supplied Bitmap and then writes text fields to it. These "text fields" are things that the user can move around on the image, but to render them efficiently, I draw the text directly to the image. It's faster that way.
The problem is that right now I have to redraw the original (unwritten-to) bitmap and redraw the text whenever the user moves the text because I haven't figured out how to properly...
