I create a user control object and show its properties through a propertygrid
object in my application. It is sure that there are 100 hundred of properties
inherited from System.Windows.Forms.UserControl and they are all showed on
the propertygrid. Is there a way i can hide all these inherited properties
and show only my user control's properties ?

I cannot get my UserControl's browsable properties to show up
in the designer properties panel.
I have
then public virtual bool TestProp { {get return testProp; } set { testProp =
value; } }
but it doesn't show up in the designer. By the way, this used to
work in the 2002 version, now in 2003 I am getting all kinds
of problems like this

Howdy,
I have a user control that is a report to display data. On the page the
control is inserted in, I have filter options to filter the report. When I
try to do something like this, nothing happens.
dim filt as string
... build filter string...
UserControl.ReportFilter = filt

Can anyone give me a good argument one way or another?
I have an 'address' set of fields that are used in various situations (a
client has an address, a destination has an address, etc).
These fields are all normalized into a seperate database table from the
client and destination tables.
My question is, which is better to create, a User Control, or a generic
class that will add controls to a form directly, applying its common event...

Hi,
I have a UserControl with some "Children" (e.g. one ComboBox & one Label).
I add the UserControl on a Form.
If I perform a recursive scan through that Form's Control-Collection the ..HasChildren-Method scans the Controls within the UserControl.
This is a behavior I want to ommit.
* Is there a way to hide the Controls contained within a UserControl so that UserControl.HasChildren will always return False? *

Ok, I have finally decided that there is ONE big thing about VB.NET (not
sure if this same thing exists in C# yet) that really ticks me off. Either I
am missing the point here or I have not found what I need to accomplish my
need.
I am creating a Windows forms user control and am inheriting from
System.Windows.Forms.UserControl. There are several properties that are part
of the Usercontrol class that I do not want to expose so I am...

Hi all
I am new to VB.NET and am using VB.NET 2005.
I have an MDI form with a Split Container Control. On demand I am adding and
removing User Controls on Panel 2. I am using Show() and Hide(). It works
perfectly. The only thing is I would like to remove the User Control from
memory instead of hiding. I tried Dispose(), however then I cannot show this

I am looking for a way to hide a property I created on a user control from a
property grid at runtime but allow it to be seen at design time.
Any ideas?
I tried setting the category of the property to 'Design' and that does not
do it.
I tried adding the 'DesignOnly' attribute and that does not do it.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
