Is this possible does anyone know? I mean other than using imaging software. The scenario is this. I have a form with a large image control over which is imposed a grid of squares (label controls with transparent backgrounds). The image control is a map (user chooses a map or image in previous forms). The idea is to use the on click event of a label to bring up another form into which comments, etc, can be stored about that area of...

I have an image in a in one column of my datagrid, along with other data. During the edit, a file control is loaded so the user can edit data and specify a new image, if needed. Everything works just fine, and the data is refreshed in the grid after an edit, but if a new image has been chosen by the user, on postback, the old image still shows until the user manually refreshes the browser. How can I get this image to refresh after the...

I have a custom component that can be dragged from the ToolBox onto a Windows Form (which means I can't modify it's constructor to add a name parameter). VS assigns it an instance name, but the developer can modify it's name. The name shows up in the property window as "(name)", I want to find a way to access that name programatically, so that instance of the control wil be able to determine it's own name. I have the source for the control...

I'm trying to set images in a bound DataGridView image column. My enum has three possible values, and I have an image that I want to show for each value: EnumValue.OK --GreenLight.gif EnumValue.Caution --YellowLight.gif EnumValue.Violation --RedLight.gif I want to display the graphic, instead of the enum value, in each row of the grid.

I have a few custom controls that expose properties of type Image. The built in controls that have Image properties allow you to delete the image and set it back to "None". How can I allow my own Image propeties to be set back to None just by deleting the image name from the property grid? Thanks. J

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
