Hello,
I am trying to have only one column sortable within a
data grid. I know you set the allowsorting property to
true on the style or the grid, but this enables sorting
for all columns. Is there a way to override this
implementation so that only a few or one of the columns
may be sorted?
thanks,

Brett:
Is this desktop or Web? You can trap the mouse down event and bind your
grid to a dataView instead of a datatable, You can manipulate the sort from
there. Whether this is desktop or web will have a subtle effect on how to
do this, but if you use a Dataview, sort it, and bind the grid to it, you
can make just about anything happen.
Let me know if you have any troubles.

I have a datagrid that I am using a DataView with. All works great for the
sorting of the columns. However, after I sort the column, and then try and
select a data row to edit, the row selected represents the indes of the
actual DataGrid and not the DataView. For example.. Lets say I have 4 rows
of data.. In the 4 rows I have an Appt Num of 1,2,3,4... Each representing
a data row... I sort DESC so the rows display 4,3,2,1... If I...

Hi,
I'm tring to add a column to a datagrid with a linkbutton as header that can
be used to sort the column. The column and the linkbutton are added
programmatically (see below). However the problem is that when you click the
added column header it doesn't trigger the sort.
The code :
<%@ Page language="c#" Codebehind="WebForm1.aspx.cs" AutoEventWireup="false"

Does anyone know the sort expression for a column that's data has been
returned in the format, eg '07 Jul 05'??
The sort expression {..:"dd mmm yy"} doesn't work ( if the column was
returned as '07-Mar-05' the expression {..:dd-MMM-yy} works OK
Second question, does anyone know hwo to return a date from SQL server
in the format '07-Mar-05', as this would be a workaround. At the moment
I'm using CONVERT(varchar(12),columnname,6 ) to...

Hello,
I am creating a windows form application using vb.net 2003 which displays
data in a datagrid, and then, if the user wants, I produce a nicely
formatted crystal report of the data.
The question I have is: if I allow the user to sort the datagrid by
clicking on the column header, is there any way that I can tell which column
the datagrid is sorted on, so that I can sort the data in the crystal report
the same way?

It was suggested that I re-submit this question as a new post rather
than adding onto an old and unanswered post.
The basic problem has to do with the .NET datagrid and sorting. I am
having trouble getting the correct row of data from the datagrid
immediately after re-sorting the datagrid. I am using the dataview for
accessing the data and am using the following code as previously
mentioned in a different post:
Dim bm As...

I successfully autosized the columns and rows on my Datagrid, and am
now facing another issue. Having the sorting ability by clicking the
column headers is key, but when I do that, it resizes all my rows back
to their defaults. I populate the datagrid, resize it accordingly and
it works fine...just when I click the headers is when it messes up. It
would be fine if I could run my autosizing again after the sorting is
done since there...

Hello all,
I can usually find solutions to my .NET problems by searching these
groups, but I'm stumped on this one. I have a datagrid in VB.NET (2.0
framework). I want to disable sorting on the first column in the grid
only. I havent found a way to reliably do this yet.
I tried putting the following code in the datagrid's mouse down event
Dim hti As DataGrid.HitTestInfo

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
