I'm working on a client - server application based on the 'How to
Sockets Server and How to Sockets Client' code from the Visual Basic
..NET Resource Kit.
Since I want to be able to send 'big strings' instead of 'one liners'
I check the streams for terminators.
I'm having problems with the connection, I've been looking and
debugging for 2 weeks now (debugging with an emulator is terribly
slow..) but I'm not getting it...

Hello,
I have a problem with the TCPClient class.
After closing the connection with the Close() method, the connection on the
Linux server remains open with the CLOSE_WAIT status.
I found the Knowledge Base article #821625 , which recommends to close the
NetworkStream before the TCPClient is closed. However, this does not solve
the problem.

Could someone tell me how can I constantly check if I'm connected to
internet and if possible to determine what type of connection is it.
My best shot wright now is to have a timer which will periodicaly call
API to check whether am I connected or not

Hi,
I've written a class for client-socket connection, but I get a lot of times
the error message "Unable to read data from the transport connection" when
restart reading the stream with socket.BeginRead in the Sub
SocketIncomingMsg. I'm debugging now for weeks, but I can't detect where it's
going wrong.
the part of code where it fails:

I'm trying to create a small messenger program that uses the tcpclient and
tcplistenter objects. When I start the application and run the thread that
fires the tcplistener; once the client sends data then closes the stream and
the connection I receive the message Unable to read data from the transport
connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
How can I keep the connection listener listening for new traffic?...

Hello,
I'm currently trying to implement a simulation program with Kamaelia
and need a reliable TCP connection to a data server.
From Twisted, I know that a method is called if the connection fails
by whatever reason. I tried to get the same results with Kamaelia's
TCPClient component. If I start up the component and try to connect
to a closed TCP port it fails and sends a message out of the signal
box, that's okay.

Try to send something.
Connection status can only be determined when you send data. If the
connection is broken when you send data, you'll get an exception.
Otherwise, you won't receive any notification.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
