System.Executio nEngineExceptio n only when running as a Smart Client

Hello!

Approx. a year ago we made a Smart Client application. It worked perfectly.
Then some customers have begun to install .NET Framework 1.1 instead of .NET
Framework 1.0 and suddenly the specific exception
System.Executio nEngineExceptio n is thrown quite often. The exception is ONLY
thrown when the program is run as a Smart Client, i.e. by starting it from a
URL pointing to a www server. I think there is an error in the Internet
Explorer IEExec program, the CLR hosting plug-in for Internet Explorer.

Do some of you have some suggestions for how to overcome this problem?
Best regards,

Henrik Dahl

So I have a fairly large VB.Net application, lots of objects, lots of yucky OLEDB code. One day I started converting some Singles to Decimals because I wanted to make some calculations as precise as possible. Then I started getting System.ExecutionEngineException's in a harmless little function that does some simple arithemetic on Decimals. I switched them back to Singles and now everything works fine again. To make matters worse...

I have an application written in C# using the dotnet.framework that is deployed at a client. I left the debugger at the client as to report any early version crashes. We are getting an ExecutionEngineException that obviously has been terminating the application. This is really starting to annoy our client. "An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' occurred in mscorlib.dll" The MSDN documentation is of no help...

have written an app to query a heterogenous network of Win98/WinME/XP/Win2000 machines. I can connect to WMI using the WMI CIM Studio but I get an ExecutionEngineException whenever I try to connect to a Win98 box from C# code. The following snippet works fine when run on Win2000/XP clients, but throws the ExecutionEngineException from Win9x boxes: ManagementObjectSearcher query; ManagementObjectCollection qColl;

Hello! There have been numerous articles about situations where a client emits an ExecutionEngineException, but only when it is no touch deployed, i.e. started by a URL and so on. Until now, to my best knowledge, there has been no fix for this. Is it something we and our customers just have to get used to or will it be fixed? Best regards,

I have a stable app developed on ASP.NET 1.1 that I'm porting to 2.0. However, I've noticed that on one page, if I click a button to perform some business logic (which runs fine), then click on a hyperlink to move to a different page, I get a 'System.ExecutionEngineException' exception. There is no line highlighted in the debugger. I'm not using interop or other threads. Event viewer shows:

Hi, I've posted this question before but didn't get anywhere with it. Please help me out if you know of a solution for it. I got "InnerException: Unable to connect to remote server"..."No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" when I attempted to send an email through my Intranet app that is written in asp.net 2.0. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
