Does anyone know if it is possible, in C#, to use a customized window
frame?
For example, programs like Winamp and AdAware do not use the standard
box window frame, but a customized design.
I'm guessing that this is a bitmap that is somehow applied with an API
call?
Thanks!

Hi:
I am trying to create customized confirmation/error/etc dialogs in my
application. Up to now we've been using MessageBox.Show and passing it
the various necessary flags (buttons, icons, etc). By "customized", I
mean I want complete control over the color of the messagebox, the
position/color/size of the buttons, etc.
Do I need to create a custom form from scratch, or is there a way to
subclass MessageBox? (I'm guessing I need to...

To centralize much of the database connectivity and variable declarations, I decided it would make sense to create my own class that inherits from the page class and derive each of my form classes from my customized page class, it works most of the time without problems. I've noticed a few odd things happening, though, and hope someone can shed some light on it.
For starters, I put all my user control variables in my base class rather than...

Hi. I'm trying to come up with a customized RadioButtonList and I don't know where to start.
My requirements are: I'll be given a dataset that contains one table with product data (eg price, product_name, product_description, product_id) and I have to build a control that displays the products dataset on a page, allowing the user to make only one product selection at a time.
That's not too bad, and I know I can do it with a RadioButtonList,...

Hi,
I'm trying to create a customized setup project for my application. I
want to write a setup project which will install several merge modules
(- this I know how to do).
Before running the setup, I want the admin to have the ability to
create a customized setup, containing which ever merge modules he
choses to include from the merge module pool. I would like this
application to compile into a setup msi file.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
