Hello all;
I'm looking at creating a custom nonvisual component (like the SQLConnection
control, for example).
I would like to do one thing with this control which is a little more
complex. With the SQLConnection , after you drag it over to the form and
the icon appears in the bar below, you are able to right-click the icon and
select Properties. I would like to either add something to this right-click
menu which opens another form...

I want my custom control to have its own toolbox icon. I create the bmp file
and it has the same name as the control class. I then set it to embedded
resource but it still doesnt appear in the toolbox. What could i be doing

I am trying to make a custom user control that gets a list of users from our
database and populates the list, its an owner drawn control also, the
problem is, I placed the item onto a form and every time i make a change to
the control it reads the database and adds new items to the listing but
never gets rid of the old items in the list, the form seems to be makeing a
stored copy of the items locally then rebuilding the list ontop of it......

hey all,
i'm trying to add an image to my custom control so that it looks unique in
my toolbox. i saw in a webcast that all you had to do was add the image to
the project and change the Build Action property to Embedded Resource.
i did that, recompiled it. but when i delete the old item from the toolbox
and add the new dll it still shows the default icon.
does the image need to be a certain size or something, i'm at a loss.

In MSN, we have a nice notify icon sit at the right hand side of the tool
bar. When new message comes, it will have a nice small window displayed near
the notify icon.
I also want to do this in my application. Since I don't know if VS.net has
this control pluged in, I am going to "hard code" it.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
