I have noticed that if a user closes a form via pressing return (either
while the OK button has focus or if AcceptButton is set to OK for the form)
then the "ENTER" keypress event fires ON THE CALLING FORM! This is very bad
for me, because in my application, Form1 responds to an ENTER keypress by
calling Form2. If the user closes Form2 via an ENTER, then Form1 just
reopens it again, kind of trapping the user in Form2 (they can still close...

I have a usercontrol with code in the "leave" event which updates the final
data back into a database.
This works fine except if I have a default "accept" button on a form and
invoke it by pressing the ENTER key on the keyboard. In this case, it would
appear that whilst the code on the button is executing and therefore
presumably the button actually has focus, the leave event in the user
control is not fired.
Should I be interfacing...

I've got a number of tabs with text boxes on them. When you hit the
last textbox on a tab, it checks to see if the next tab is a valid
destination, then goes to it if so.
Unfortunately, when this happens, both the Enter _and_ Leave events of
the first textbox control are fired, causing all sorts of mayhem.
On a related note, I have another textbox that has it's Enter/Leave
events fired when other controls are changing focus...

I'm using VS 2005 to develop an intranet asp.net web application and I get a
weird situation. If I start out with any ASPX page that contains an
ImageButton control followed by a TextBox control, everything works okay. I
can press <ENTER> when the cursor is inside the text box and the page is
running, and no events fire (this is what I expect). But as soon as I drop a

If I have a control like say a drop down list and I have some kind of
onSelectItem change event, is there a way to temporarily suspend the event
handling (without removing the event and then re-attaching it?) while I edit
it's contents which would otherwise cause the event to fire?
Or is there maybe a way in my event handler to tell if the user triggered it
as opposed to the program itself?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
