I have a string variable that holds the equivalent of a DateTime value. I
pulled this datetime from the database and I want to strip off the time
portion before displaying to the user.
I am using C#
eg.
- String variable "strMyDate" holds the value "1/1/2005 12:00:00 AM" from
the database.
- I do not care about the time portion, I only want "1/1/2005" for display.

I am trying to create a web service that takes a string from my web server
in the following format:
Mon, 6 Oct 2003 18:39:47 UTC
and put's in a datetime so it can then be reformatted in C# as necessary
for variuos purposes.
There is something wrong with the following code. I get the following error
when I enter in the above date string:

Does anybody know of a library that can handle strings pf various formats
and conver them to a DateTime value? The strings are coming from a webform
and I can't restrict the input (it's not my form).
I have been using Convert.ToDateTime but it choked on "12:00 noon".
I am looking for a function that can make sense out of anything that looks
like a date/time. Outlook is pretty good at it when you enter an
appointment with the GUI, but...

Before processing my data in a datagrid, I need to parse the day of the
week (which will be my 'rqsday' variable) from a string that comes over
on a querystring:
string rqs = Request.QueryString;
string rqsday;
rqsday = (System.String.Format("{0:dddd}",rqs)) ;

I was a little surprised to recently discover
that datetime has no method to input a string
value. PEP 321 appears does not convey much
information, but a timbot post from a couple
years ago clarifies things:
http://tinyurl.com/epjqc
> You can stop looking: datetime doesn't
> support any kind of conversion from string.

I am beginning to work with VB2005.NET and I'm getting some problems
with string formatting converting an application from VB6.
VB6 code:-
sTradeDate = Format(pArray(4,i Record), "mmddyy")
pArray is a variant array containing a date string at pArray(4,
iRecord) in the format "yyyy/mm/dd"

I have recently done a simple measurement of std::string performance in C++,
and I'm shocked how bad it is. C++ is first and foremost meant to be a
performance language, with near-zero overhead. This holds quite well with
regards to the language, but overheads of the std library are absolutely
abysmal. And string is one of the most often used datatypes.
The test program creates 10 million strings and puts them in a container
(see source...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
