Have you tried double-clicking the downloaded file ?

You should really get a grip of yourself before ranting here.

now, if you can assume for a moment that I am not an idiot and that I am
asking a legitimate question, can you think, think, think of the answer to
my question?

re:

The way you phrased your question is unclear.

Is your problem that you don't remember where you placed
the downloaded file, or that you don't know where it installed itself
( after you started the msi package ) ?

1. You should remember where you saved the msi file.

2. The Time Tracker package default installation path is :
BootDrive:\Program Files\ASP.NET Starter Kits\ASP.NET TimeTracker (VBSDK)\

If yoiu didn't change the path when you ran the msi file, that's where it's found.

Btw, it says where it installs itself during setup.
It's odd that you don't remember that.

Hi,

Also, I am confused by the continuous use of WTF in Mr Fingers' posts. I
am aware of WPF, WCF and WF, but not WTF ;-)

See, there's the trouble. You're:

a) asking about starter kits. (which are targeted at beginners)
b) whining. (which kids often do when frustrated by stuff they don't
understand)
c) expecting MS to hold your hand. (which an experienced dev probably
wouldn't need)

So yeah, my first impression was that you don't know what you're doing.
if you hope
to make it far on the Usenet, you should probably work on you question
presentation
skill. There are plenty of articles out there you can read about how
to ask for help
in an online forum. You should definitely read one of them before
continuing your
tantrum here.

NO,

After installing the starter kit, i open VS2005, and try to install
templates.

the new template is not listed.

now what do i do?

jeez.
Dec 14 '06 #7
Find a program that installs templates ?

AFAIK, the Time Tracker Starter Kit doesn't install any templates.

The MasterPage.master page for this starter kit is a presentation template
that can then be used by any content page contained in the application.

You can use it as a template for any page you add to the app,
by declaring an @ Master page directive.

Read the "Introduction to the Time Tracker Starter Kit" :
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms972955.aspx

And, please, try not to look like a fool who asks questions without having
made at least a minimal effort to understand what you're asking about.

Your "CLOWN-HOLES" post is no credit to you.
