The SDK documentation is perhaps not what I would called a fridendly tutorial but IMO does quite a good job aat explainging in details how it works.

The Microsoft .Net SDK is a free download, and is the best overall
reference on .Net there is (IMHO). It both reference materials, articles,
examples, and sample code. You can download it for free from:

Once you have installed the DNF SDK go to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\SDK\v1.1\Samples\StartSamples.htm
and learn to install the database that will enable you to use the QuickStart Tutorials.
