Basic Question: Function

Hello,

When I call a funtion when a button is pressed I should use:
Sub loadPage(sender As Object, E As System.EventArgs, pageURL As
String)
...

If I call the function from, for example, Page_Load I should use:
Sub loadPage(pageURL As String)
...

Why?

I also need to read something about "Handles..."

Can someone send me some links?

Thanks,
Miguel
