storing value on client side

I am storing a value into a javascript variable that was keyed into a text
control. When the code performs a postback, the value that was stored into a
clientside variable no longer exists. Is there anything I can do, to not lose
that value in the clientside variable when a postback is performed?

The text control has to have the attribute runat="server".

a postback reloads the page in the browser, so basically its a new page as
far as the browser is concerned. in the codebehind you can write out client
script to reinit the javascript variable.

I have some client-side JavaScript that, among other things, calculates the value of a variable (myVar). On the server I have a stored procedure that needs to somehow receive as an input parameter the value of myVar. I need to know how to get the value of myVar from the script up to the server. Specifically, I'd like to have the following...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
