Passing data across applications..

Hello,

I have a scenario. In my application, login page is in different application and after validating the user I have to pass the user
credentials to another asp.net web application. How can we pass information from one web application to another?

Thanks,
Praveen

hi

one option is to use cookies. But because the browser can be set not to
accept any cookie its possible not to work for all. So you can save some
cripted stuff in cookie and base on it to authenticate the user in other app.

you can also send some cripted stuff between applications in request,
decript this stuff and base on it to make user authentication.

a secons option, i think is better, is to use remoting authentication. this
way you can save on the remote machine some stuff and if the user is there to
get stuff from there in your new app. anyway with this you should have also
an identifier send from one application to other based on which to check if
user is authenticated.
hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi, In my application I get lots of different sorts of information from databases. As such, a lot of information is stored in DataSets and DataTable objects.
