Help in : Global Authentication Problem????

The thing is that I want to put authentication application to the webserver
root
(C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\empLogin.aspx & http:\\localhost\emplogin.aspx)

The problem is that another webApplication myPDF <(It uses aspx
authentication to safeguard pdf files - really cool - just had to relate pdf
extension in IIS to aspNet)>
( C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myPDF\getList.aspx &
http:\\localhost\myPDF\getList.aspx ) needs that authentication.
So i set up the web.config file for myPDF:
....
<authentication mode="Forms"><forms name=".ASPXAUTH"
loginUrl="/ml_empLogin.aspx" /></authentication>
<authorization><deny users="?" /></authorization>
....

The authentication works fine for all the files in the root folder -
however im not able to access myPDF webForms - it always directs me back to
ml_empLogin.aspx EVEN after typing in correct Username / password

Please help - it's crucial for me to solve this problem ASAP
