I have a base page class A which inherits System.Web.UI.Page class
then a aspx page B inherits class A and have a master page C.
There is a property D (a string variable) in the master page C.
How can I access the property D from the base page class A?
PS: I know how to use reflection to access control of master page C from the
base class A.

Hello All,
Here is my issue and thanks in advance for any assistance.
I have a base page with a dropdownlist that fires an event with
the selected index. The content page catches the event and sets
a connection string to the database. The content page has a
simple gridview that should show records from the selected
database. Initial content page displays data from correct place.
first change of dropdownlist correctly updates content...

I have an asp.net 2.0 app that uses a sitemap, Master Page, and has
several content pages. While this feature has simplified the process of
creating a data-driven site menu, it does seem to have some big
restrictions.
Namely, maintaining state on the Master Page across all content pages.
I simply want to keep track of a key value across all content pages.
The only solution I can come up with is using a session variable, which
I hate.

I am trying to convert applications built with .net framework 1.1 to use
master pages. On a couple of aspx pages, I call certain javascript
functions
<body onresize="blah()"....>
However, now that <bodytag is in master page, I cannot do this. What is
the correct way/workaround for this? I really don't want to create another
master page for those aspx pages.
Thanks

I'm using ASP.NET 2.0 with VS.NET 2005. I'm trying to access properties
from my master pages within a page that inherits from that master page (a
child page). However the values are always null.
In my masterpage I have this:
private bool m_AlreadyTested;
public bool AlreadyTested
{
get { return m_AlreadyTested; }

I have a Master page that all other pages reference.
When I create a new page I use "New WebForm"
Is that correct in this situation?
the IDE then inserts after the <%@ Page line
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C/...
Is that required if a master page is referenced?

Hi I have just upgraded a project from 2005 net 2.0 frame work to 2008
net 3.5 frame work
On the (single not nested) master page I have a lable which is wrapped
in a public sub to set its text and fore colour
The content pages which inherit from the master page do not now see
the public sub and give a compile error
I've deleted the sub saving the project and adding the public sub back
again - no joy

I have 1 master page in the root of my website that I would like to share
with all pages, even those in my /admin and /client directories. But when
pages in the subdir's are viewed the img, css, etc... references are
incorrect because they are "root based". Any suggestion as to how to
overcome this? Or do I have to create another Master Page for the subdir
pages?
Thansk!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
