printing aspx pages/ ie6 vs. ie7

How does IE6 and IE7 work when printing an aspx page, does it initially
format the page according to the default printer on the PC? Or does it have
it's own method for formating a page for printing.

As any other program that prints, IE has certain formatting logic. There are
also some properties that user can set to affect page setup. After that, the
printer driver takes over and applies its own logic.

You may want to be a more specific...

The basic idea is that each application just "draws" the document to the
selected printer. In the case of a web document it can use the printer
settings but also you can define style attributes inside the web document
that are specific to printed documents (for example allowing to have
elements visible on screen but hidden when the same page is printed)..

I would recommend telling directly what is the problem you are trying to
solve...

I am having a problem with printing selected pages. Actually, the problem isn't with printing selected pages as it is more to do with having blank pages print for those pages that have not been selected. For example, if I were to have 5 pages with every second page printing, I would get the following results: Page 1 = Print OK Page 2 = Blank Page 3 = Print OK Page 4 = Blank

Our work group has migrated to the .NET environment from some differing back grounds. I am the newest member of the group so I am stuck with the ASPX pages. I am doing the code behind in C#. Our current users want to print the data in the tables and data grids from the ASPX pages. This leads to some problems with lines being cut in two with both data grids and tables at page breaks. Would someone point me to a good article on formatting for...

Hello, Please let me know if you have the solution for a similar kind of problem... Background: I have an aspx page which is used as a report i.e. will be used for printing some information. The page has some text fields, some bulleted lists, 4 tables, a diagram. All the data is variable based on some parameters. Hence the height of the text fields, height of the table nor the height of the image is known.

I have a report that is generated by my application that if the user wants all pages will produce 3 pages. I want to offer the user the ability to select via the print dialog that only pages 1 and 2 of it are printed or possibly pages 1 and 3 but not 2. At the moment I can produce all three pages...

This works fine in the Visual Studio 2005 development environment on localhost. But, when I move the page to the web server, I get the error "Settings to access printer...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
