Microsoft completes Datallegro purchase

Microsoft said on Tuesday that it has finalized its purchase of data
warehousing specialist Datallegro.

The company also detailed its plans for the technology, saying that
the purchase will pave the way for Microsoft to create “a new solution
based on Datallegro’s technology that extends Microsoft SQL Server to
scale into hundreds of terabytes of data.”

Doing that, though will take some time. The final version of that
product is slated for the first half of 2010, though Microsoft said it
will begin giving customers and partners access to early “community
technology preview” releases within the next 12 months.

I have now and then seen your impassioned expression of this hatred, scattered among your newsgroup posts. Personally, i have an inherent distrust toward big organizations. This applies to Microsoft. Since perhaps 1995, MS has become more and more large, and as well becoming a hate target especially...

Which to purchase is the question. My Borland 4.5 C/C++ compiler is old. The personal or student version of either BBC++ or MVC++ is being investigated for home use. My personal preference happens to be Borland, which I am not able to purchase wisely due to a lack of product knowledge. You can bombard me with good suggestions, including a solid reference book on your compiler of choice. Thank you.

After we develop the web application using the new Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 we will deloy it to the server, and right now on our server we only have .NET FrameWork 1.1. I just wonder do we have to upgrade our server to .NET Framework 2.0 or we can it leave at FramWork 1.1. Does Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
