Update problem using repeater controls

(This is a continuation of my earlier post - 'Beginners question about
binding/formatting a repeater'.)

I'm trying to write a fairly minimal web app using a repeater control. I am
accustomed to using GridViews and DetailViews with their self-generated
update buttons but I have almost no experience with repeaters.

As usual I have created an xsd. I've bound the repeater control to an
object data source. The itemtemplate of the repeater contains a user control
that is mostly textboxes.

The display works fine. The page displays multiple usercontrols in a 2
dimensional layout, one record per user control.

What I have not figured out yet is the update. What I would like to do is
have one button on the screen that triggers an update of any and all user
controls within the repeater. Is this scenario possible?

All of the documentation I've seen so far seems to be focused on responsing
to events within a single instance of a repeater item. Do I need to somehow
iterate through the collection of user controls within the repeater and
trigger an update in each one?

I cut down the code to make this half way understandable... I have read Data Grid girls caution about over use of dynamic controls. I truly believe what I am doing requires dynamically inserted user controls. Worse I'm trying to add dynamic user controls from within a repeater loop (looping through attributes)... I bind to a function in the code behind and pass in the attribute. <asp:repeater id="rAttributes" Runat="server">

I have a repeater with controls added at run time. the <template> also contains a <asp:textbox that is made visible on some repeater elements. when I come to read the text info out it has disapeared. The read is done on a button click. I can read the selected items from the other controls in the repeater, demo page here

Hi, We are developing an asp.net application, and we dynamically created certain literal controls to represent some read-only text for certain editable controls. However, recently we found an issue which is related to the repeater. In the code shown below, if I call Repeater1.Controls.Count in the OnInit (the code fragment was highlighted in yellow) , the viewstate for the repeater will be lost during the postback. You can re-produce this...

hi. is there a way to access the controls of a repeater template at runtime? i tried the GetFields method to extract all the controls of the repeater as FieldInfoArray but that array contails only ITemplate objects. i want to do this before i call the bind of the repeater so items are not available. kind regards

I have what's probably a simple page lifecycle question related to dynamically evaluating values that are placed by a repeater and dynmically placing user controls that use those values. I'm attempting to bind a user control I've written, "ImageBox", to a repeater. The user control takes a custom property, "ContentID", that will execute a database lookup and load an image.

I have a repeater with a header, footer, and item template. The item template is the only one with server controls (hyperlinks, labels, and a nested repeater). Within the top repeater, I'm handling the ItemDataBound method in the code behind. In this handler, I need to get access to the controls within the ItemTemplate.... however I've only found one way to do this (and i"m not sure why it works). Once I cast the sender (first param...

I have a need to have a repeater inside update panel control which should update dynamically when "Update" button is clicked. I have repeater inside update panel control which takes custom collection as its datasource. However, the panel doesn't update and refresh of page is required (not asynchnonous). Is it possible to have repeater to dynamically update with update panel control? Thanks

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
