hi all,
i have a c# winform application and a web appliaction.
in the winform app. i use a treeview control, and in the web app. i use
an htc control.
the problem is that the winform application is loading very slow(the
tree), whereas the web application's tree is loading quicker.
both applications usews the same functions when it creates the tree,
anyone knows why????

I am seeing significant performance problems with the TreeView (from
the Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls namespace) when trying to data bind it
on the server side. I set the TreeNodeSrc property and the
TreeNodeTypeSrc property and then call the DataBind() method. I am
setting each of these properties to a string of XML.
As the payload grows, this becomes terribly slow. This is all server
side.

I am upgrading from VB6 where I had access to a treeview NodeClick event
(see below)... but now VB.NET does not have this any more.

The VB.NET way seems to be inspect the SelectedNode property within the
TreeView's Click event... however this is extreamly buggy, and actually

I'm creating a little program that acts as a glorified Registry explorer.
The TreeView doesn't allow you to show a plus sign unless a node has child
nodes, so I need to determine whether a registry key has subkeys and add a
dummy childnode. The way I'm doing this is to populate the child nodes as
the parent is expanded.

Trying to resolve the following condition:
Website initial page load is extremly slow (50 secs) when accessing site
through CSS (load balancer) with http://alias. Code works perfectly (3.5
sec load) when pointing browser directly to server http://servername/website
and not through CSS
Of course the network guys say it's the code. So I'm looking into trying to
prove them wrong.

data from database tables? All the sample code I have found either builds
the treeview manually or uses a file directory as the sample.
I have trouble translating those samples to working with data coming from my

Hi,
I am using a Treeview and I'd like to know what is the best way to
refresh the children of a specific node in the treeview. I already do
that using full postback, but this sends back the entire tree and it's
very slow. Basically, I'd like to be able to redo a client side
callback PopulateOnDemand that would reload the childrens of a node.
That way, I would reduce the overhead since I would refresh only the
part of the tree I need...

When i click on the + signs of the parent nodes, it expands to show all of
its children. Similarly, when i click on the node itself, it expands to show

few levels, I've set up threads to handle chunks of the list, and this
works well to get around the whole nested loop (foreach) problem when

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
