More problems with this... When I run this code, the main form returns
an invalid cast exception as it's executing the line "TreeNode n =
(TreeNode) this.Nodes;"
Does anyone know what would cause this? I just want to be able to use
my own node class so that I can store extra data...

i am trying to set focus to a specific control depending on the
outcome of a validator control and it is not working.
none of these methods are working to setfocus:
1. RegisterStartupScript("sf","<scriptlanguage='javascript'>document.form.MyControlID.focus();</script>");
2. Andy Smith's FirstFocus control from
http://www.metabuilders.com/tools/FirstFocus.aspx

Hello,
Don't know if this is the right group for this, but I will start here.
I have a setfocus JS that sets the focus to whatever control I want on the
page on a postback. However if I have smartnav enabled it no longer works. I
know that smartnav.js gets the control that caused the postback then sets the
focus back to it. Does anyone know how to override this in the smartnav.js
file?
Thanks in advance,

Hi. I am trying to enter a variable in the treenodesrc of a treenode. I am
basically trying to send an ID variable into sql to return different records.
I've searched everywhere and cannot find the answer. I'd appreciate and help.
Thanks.
What I'm doing is creating a treeview with the structure as follows (this is
the expanded view):

Hello,
I am re-writing a visual basic .net application(visual studio 2003) in an
asp.net application(visual studio 2005). The vb.net application relied on a
treeview and hence, treenodes. The treeview and treenode class in asp.net
is limited compared to vb.net's. In vb.net, the treenode had a nextnode
property which was equivalent to finding the next sibling of the treenode.
asp.net's treenode has a child property and a parent property....

I am using a TreeView with data stored in a database and have been
trying to store a node index over a postback and re-select the node
without using javascript.
I couldn't find anything in these groups to answer my question, so I
thought somebody might find this method useful.
You can use the TreeNode.ValuePath to select a node using the
TreeView.FindNode() method.

Hi everyone! I need help to cast a TreeNode into my own-defined TreeNode class (called ExtraTreeNode); the TreeNode has been added to the tree as ExtraTreeNode.
For example, I have some properties (p1, p2) in ExtraTreeNode.
Creating my object:
ExtraTreeNode tempnode = new ExtraTreeNode(p1,p2);
and adding:
TreeViewObj.Nodes.Add(tempnode);
The problem is later on (usually after a postback) when I try to reference to the node I cannot...

The PagerSettings.Visible property is not being handled properly by the
GridView control.
The value assigned to this property is not applied until after a postback.
Simplest test :
.aspx containing a single gridview - enable paging and give enough data
to page.
add checkbox with auto postback enable
add button with auto postback enable
in the GridView1_PreRender method add the following :
GridView1.HeaderRow.Enabled =

Hi,
i experimented with postback and viewstate. With this code, there are 2
dropdownlists created, one visible and with AutoPostBack true, the other not
visible and no AutoPostBack, and one button . The first time, when i choose
value "b" of DD1, the second DD appears. That's normal.
Now, what i don't understand is when i further click on the button (causing
a postback), the second DD remains visible. Don't think i don't want it. I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
