Calling event handler using Master Pages

H F
Hi all

I created a user control that has a button and have added it to the
Master page. When I click on the button, the onClick event handler in
the user control is not fired. How do I reference the onClick event
handler?

thanks
Harry

Hi...

If you create event handler for the button in usercontrol's codebehind
file it is suppose to fire. if you want to handler the event in master
page's codebehind do create a public event in user control raise the
event in usercontrol when the button is clicked and subscribe the
event in master page's codebehind.

Thanks

I have a user control that has a group of links. It is included on every page of a web application. Some of the pages are forms, and the requirements state "if any of the data has changed, you must ask the user if they want to save the changes." I can solve this by dynamically setting a group of LinkButton controls and adding a common event handler in the control. On non-form pages, I can redirect the person to the linked page without...

I'm creating an application that has a standard layout for all pages. The information that is displayed in the layout will be dynamic based on the user that is logged in. Thus when a page is browsed to, I need to check to see if the user has logged in or not. Then if they have logged in, I need to pull their information from the database to display in the header. In previous applications, I made use of a base web page that all the...

I have designed and written a custom menu like server control. The control inherits from DataBoundControl and implements INamingContainer and IPostBackEventHandler interfaces. The control uses only html mark-up as it’s UI, i.e. tables, table rows and table cells, and no intrinsic html controls such as input or select. The control does not implement any client-side script and therefore redraws its updated UI on postback through the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
