I just realized that the code I inherited is using all asp.net server
controls (ie. webform controls) and when I try to update textboxes on the
client side, I lose the new value of the textbox when submitting the form to
update the database. The server doesn't have the client side value any more.
It seems to me that as I begin to write the client side javacript code for
form validation and client side editing capabilities in order to save...

Has anyone seen an example of a textbox server control that has
built-in client-side validation? I'd like to build a server control
that extends the System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox class to allow
javascript checks for things like valid e-mail addresses or phone
numbers (without having to add a separate control for validation).
One idea I did some work on was having the control implement the
IValidator interface and basically recreating...

Hi. I've also posted this at another discussion board and here is the
original question.
-------------------------
"I have this problem and I don't know what I can do. First of all, I have a
page with and button, and 5 <asp:TextBox>'s and when an user
makes changes to each of the textbox content, javascript client side code is
triggered to change the textbox background color property to some other
color. My problem is when I click...

Hello -
I have a page that runs a stored procedure checking for the existence of a
name in a database. If it exists, lblMessage returns text indicating same.
When a user goes back and clears the textbox, I would like the message to
disappear, instead of waiting for a return trip to the server.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I have more experience working with Windows.Forms than with WebForms
and sometimes it trips me up.
When my page loads, I want a particular textbox to have the focus. I
am attempting to do it using logic like this:
if TextBox1 CanFocus then
TextBox1 Focus()

In the Page_Load() of my webForm, I have the following code, and on my HTML
button, the onclick button calls writeVal() (the javascript function). When
I click on the button, I see the messagebox from the Alert(), but the
server-side Textbox text is not set to 'TEST'. I get a javascript error
saying, "document.getElementById(...) is null or is not an object.". What
could the problem be? The textbox is inside a Wizard control. Here's the...

Hello All
I am working on ASP.NET 1.1 Custom Pager that allows a User to Enter a
Number in a TextBox and go to the page selected.
Since the OnClick Event does not work in ASP.NET 1.1 for a TextBox
I want to use a hidden button to fire when the Onclick Event is fired for
the TextBox.

I'd like to have an AJAX textbox that after the user fills in, will
auto-fill another textbox on the page without having a postback
occur. It doesn't have to do any filtering or any other thing like
that. I'm fairly experienced with ASP.Net, but new to AJAX. Please
help if you can. Thanx.

Hi,
I found out that Text property is perserved, but disable/enable status is
not preserved, especially I change this setting of a server side text box
with client side javascipt and then post back to server.
Is this a bug?
Thanks,

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
