Hi Max,
Regarding on the EventLogWebEven tProvider, I have performed some
investigation on it and it seems the underlying EventLog writing code is
encapsulated in a unamanged API (called in EventLogWebEven tProvider through
PInvoke). e.g.
=====the code from reflector====== ===
............... ........
}
}
int num = UnsafeNativeMet hods.RaiseEvent logEvent((int) type, (string[])
dataFields.ToAr ray(typeof(stri ng)), dataFields.Coun t);
if (num != 0)
{
throw new HttpException(S R.GetString("Ev ent_log_provide r_error",
new object[] { "0x" + num.ToString("X 8", CultureInfo.Ins talledUICulture )
}));
}
}

So far I'm afraid the built-in properties can not customize this behavior.
If you do need to change the output eventlog entry's level, I think one
possible approach is writing a custom EventLogProvide r and call your own
unmanaged API to write EventLog.

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
