I have a full blown VS.NET 2003 solution with a handful of library
assemblies, two web projects, and a few web service projects. The
entire solution is in VSS. Recently our build server went haywire and
the best solution was to blow away everything on the build server
related to this solution (both filebase and virtual directories hanging
off the default website).
I recreated the shell of our solution's web projects...

I have several classic ASP projects running on Webserver. I would like to
implement some .net functionalities. Because I need the references I have to
"upgrade" the existing ones wit a new .net webproject.
I've made some tests but it does not work.
If I setup a new Webproject and define e.g. http://server1/web1 to store the
project, it fails creating. Creating new projects into folders that don't
exist also fails.
Creating Web...

Hi,
How do I go about installing another Web Site Project inside my existing
VS2005 website project. I currently have both a forum WSP and my main WSP
application within the same solution. Both compile and run without error.
However they are separate applications and I would like to have them
together in order to make use of my masterpages, and share controls between.
Do I need to combine the web.config files? I figured I would just...

I am taking over an existing fully functional website without source code.
Because of the .aspx file extensions and the age of the files, I assume it
must be ASP.NET 1.0 or 1.1. I have made modifications to one page under VS
2005, which uses ASP.NET 2.0. I put that page and its .vb file up on the
website in a directory in the root folder, not wanting to touch anything
else, but I get the following error when I hit the page.
Server...

Hello,
my problem is, that if i create a new website with Visual Studio 2005
and I choose "AJAX enabled Website" everything works fine.
But if I try to do the same with an existing Website (AJAX Extesions
where installed later) the "AJAX"-functionality fails.
Though I have the AJAX Extensions in my Tool-Box and everything seems
ok it doesn`t work. I can drag and drop ScriptManager, UpdatePanels,

Hi All,
I am using IIS 6.0 for ASP based website. This is an existing application and code was written to redirect pages to an error page when ever there is an error. Also after some operations the pages will be redirected to other pages.
When ever there is a URL redirection, in the address bar there next URL is displayed like ..
www.ourwebsite.com/Home.asp?NextURL=http://www.externalsite.com/
NextURL we are using for transferring...

When would I use "Copy Web site" over "Publish Website" or visa versa? Why
would I use the Web Deployment Project vs these options?
I want to make sure no one can pull up/read/download my vb source code (in
..vb files).
I would prefer easy update of the site (code or aspx.)
Thanks.

Hello all:
Most of my development for websites has been on test VPC images where VS is
installed on the server image. I now have a setup where I have a test server
joined to my domain, and a development PC also joined to the domain. On the
server I created a new website on port 99 called "dev", and then on the
development PC I tried to create a new http website using
http://testserver:99/testwebsite, however I get an error message...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
