hi...
if you got more than one project.. under a solution you will see the
solution file...
if you want to explicitly create a solution just add a blank solution
and the start adding the projects one by one...
Thanks

this is a question. How "just add a blank solution"
with notepad, create a two line solution file:
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 9.00
# Visual Studio 2005

In Studio, choose File / New project / Other project types / Visual

Basically, how do I know that the release versions of all components are
being published?
The Build | Configuration Manager is confusing me a little in VS2005.
I have three projects in my solution:
1) web service website.
2) SOAP Extension Class Lib that compiles to a dll
3) WinForm application with a proxy to test the web service.

Hi guys
I'm trying to migrate to VS2005... I've managed to do that, but realised I'd
opened my web projects as file projects, and I'm getting the error about
network BIOS command limit.
Anyway, I decided to have a go at loading them as web projects from our
Win2k3 server. It gets so far and then says "The web server does not appear
to have FrontPage server extensions installed".

I have a win2003 server workstation with multiple webs, each web has it's
own ip address. In VS2005, if I select to open an existing web site, select
Local IIS, the dialog correctly displays a list of all of my webs, however
if I attempt to open a site under and web other than localhost I receive the
message:
"Unable to open the Web 'http://localhost/anywebappname'. The Web
'http://localhost/anywebappname' does not exist"
Obviously...

Hi peeps
I've just moved my dev system to Win2k3 / VS2005 (from Win2k/VS2k3) and I'm
having a problem.
I've setup a new website in IIS, enabled .net, fpse, etc.
From VS2005, if I choose Open Website, I can type in the location of my
server by entering http://10.0.0.253:4040. That works fine, and VS loads the
project.

I've got an ASP.NET solution with one web project and 4 class libraries that
was developed using VS2005 Enterprise Edition.
When I open the solution in VS2005 Professional Edition, it starts the
conversion wizard and only attempts to convert my web project, ignoring my
class library projects.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks!

There appears to be a REALLY annoying bug in VS2005: periodically when you're rebuilding an ASPNET2 website which uses App_Code
stuff the compiler will fail to create the dynamic assembly or not be able to copy it to the bin directory or something.
In my case the error message which always shows up complains about my master page not defining a public property. The funny/sad
thing is that the property is defined, and in most cases I haven't...

Hi,
How do I go about installing another Web Site Project inside my existing
VS2005 website project. I currently have both a forum WSP and my main WSP
application within the same solution. Both compile and run without error.
However they are separate applications and I would like to have them
together in order to make use of my masterpages, and share controls between.
Do I need to combine the web.config files? I figured I would just...

OK, I'll admit it up front - I just don't get it.
Here's our previous VS2003 development model. Developers develop the WS
solution on their own workstations, using their own IIS web servers mapped
to the local devleopment folder. Project compiles to a subfolder .\bin. To
deploy, the asmx page and bin subfolder are copied to the production server.
So now I upgrade to VS2005. OK, so except for the name, everything is
changed. No more...

hi guys,
working with an inherited "project" only I have no vsprog file. The
project is a web application. Is there anyway I can recreate the
project file. At present I am loading it as a website. It works, but
because it's not being treated as a webapp, it's messing my source
control up ....
thanks guys

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
