display fields in excel based on user role or id

Hi All,

Here is the scenario. I need a solution/suggestion how to work around this
problem.
My application has users with different roles. When they click on a button
"Download Spreadsheet" in aspx page, they should be able to download a
spreadsheet with necessary columns. Based on the role the spreadsheet has to
have the necessary fields. Then they save this spreadsheet on to the local
drive and update with the info.

My questions is how to get this task done? Any kind of suggestion is
appreciated.

Let me know if anyone needs more info.

Thanks,

I don't understand if I am answering your question or not......It has to be
excel because its easy for non technical users to update info easily and lot
of them have the systems in place to work with excel.

But this is what we do. ............... .....

The user after updating the information, need to send us the information
back to us. We upload this info to our database. The data they update in the
excel is very important for us to analyze, evaluate.....

Regards........ ..

Er, yes, but that's the whole point! If the user simply filled in the data
directly on your website, maybe through some sort of grid, then there would
be no need for Excel at all...

You want to store data from your users in a database and then analyse it -
why do you need to use Excel for this...???

Hi all, In our ASP.NET web application we have to enable or disable features in each ASP.NET page based on role assigned to user. Ex: if user who logs in is superisor then he can change phonenumber in page1.aspx if user who logs in is finaceofficial then he can just view the phone number in page1.aspx

Questions about Role Based Security in ASP.Net: I have a few questions about role based security in an ASP.Net application. Below are some points about our system: - We have a hierarchical roles system stored in a database. - We are also using Windows for authentication. - Page - Role relationships are also held in a database. - We have created a shared assembly for ease of use in applications.

I am in the process of developing a highly customizable application and I'm looking for a way to allow personalization by role. This is different than shared scope in the fact that I want to allow multiple clients to make modifications to properties, placement, controls on page, etc... and have all users see the customizations that apply to them. Customizations will take place at Client > Branch > Division levels. So when a user logs into...

I'm looking for some design guidance on a collection of projects I'm working on. The project involves a bunch of websites constructed out of a collection of user controls. Different user populations with different access rights and "roles" will be visiting the site. I will be using ASP.NET 2.0's membership, roles, and profiles stuff to manage access. User controls need to be visible or not visible depending on user role. In some...

I'm in the concept stage of putting together a web application. Certain featues will be available only if the person has been given access. This is based on their particular subscription. I can create database tables that have an entry for each user and the features they have access to. The logic that decides whether the feature should be diplayed or not (reading values from tables) will be at the .NET class level. I want to make...

Hello all, This is my first post, please let me know if I've missed any relevant data or guidelines. I'm using Access 2003 for the database and Excel 2003 for the reporting to avoid having everyone reading the reports install the snapshot viewer. I'm also porting this application to SQL Server/ASP.NET eventually, and there is not a way to install reporting services on the server, so my hope is to use Excel there as well. I'm using two...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
