Hello,
I am working on a test site to explore the new login controls and membership
features of ASP.NET v2.0. I have tested the controls using SQL Express and
have now decided to try using a central SQL Server 2000 database. When I use
the all of the included controls with SQL Express everything works great but
when I use it against SQL Server 2000 I can't get past the login page.
When in Visual Studio IDE and open the web admin page I...

This is an appeal for peer support sent to Microsoft as will be noted in
closing.
The Login control does not include a Cancel button.
The only option is to convert the Login control to a template which is not
such a bad thing in itself but it means all other controls in the
application must also be converted to templates to maintain a consistent UI.
So much for writing 70% less code when foolish morons release a control with
no cancel...

I have a page that has the login control on it, nothing else. This page inherits from a master page, neither page has any code in it. This page works perfectly when running on the WebDev debug web server. I am able to log in. However after publishing the page to my local IIS, it results in the below error. This error is occurring on the Visual Studio.Net 2k5 release version, but did not occur on the beta 2, same code.
A point of interest, is...

Does anybody know a way to make the button on the Login control be the
default button on the page? I have a master page with an ImageButton and a
content page with a Login control. When I enter the id and password and
press the Enter key, the ImageButton (on the master page) fires instead of
the Login button of the Login control on the content page. The Login
composite control does not appear to expose a reference to its button.

The background:
I have a web app with a simple master page that contains just one
content placeholder.
I have created a web form that then uses this master page. Within the
content placeholder, I have placed a Login control (Login1) and a
ValidationSummary control.
I have set the ValidationSummary's ValidationGroup property equal to
"Login1".

I have a login page which requires all users to login everytime they visit,
the remember me feature isn't working. We all have cookies and js enabled.
Any suggestions on how to diagnose this?
My login aspx:
<asp:Login ID="Login1" runat="server" BackColor="#FFFFCC"
BorderColor="#5400A8" BorderPadding="4" BorderStyle="Solid" BorderWidth="1px"

I've been searching for a way to test this control with my NUnitASP tests for awhile now and have yet to come up with anything. I have all of my tests written, but until I can get past the initial login page, all my tests fail.
Here is some of the login page code:
<asp:Login ID="Login1" runat="server" Height="134px"
OnAuthenticate="Login1_Authenticate"
OnLoginError="OnLoginError" Width="336px" CreateUserText="Create a...

The following code (web.config in Visual Studio 2005) is supposed to redirect a user to the appropriate Form depending on their role.
However, regardless of the user's role, the only page displayed is the login page with the URL of the page the user was supposed to go to being displayed in the address bar.
A valid user is:
name "sandy"
password = san_mcd
role = Administrator

Hi All,
I am facing this very weird issue, for every server request my control
is redirecting to the login page and again coming back to the actual
page from where the request was initiated when I set my custom
Remember be cookie on the login page. Following are the details:
1. Authentication mode is ‘Forms’
2. This issue is reproducible only in deployed applications, I found
this using my trace and remote debugging
3. This issue occurs...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
