Hi everyone,
I consider myself a very competent programmer when it comes to actual
programming and analyzing the business that I'm modelling. I am now
crossing into what I would consider Access admin/config territory, an
area
where I generally suck at.
Here is my problem. I do all my programming on my laptop before

In our application we've used several 3rd party windows form controls that
were installed into their own individual directories.
We have to avoid using the GAC, all our dlls should be found together in the
main application directory.
I'm just reading through the many projects and references that make up our
solution. Some of the dlls in the references are set to "Copy Local", others
are not. (We can handle that Windows system dlls...

I hope this makes sense !
We have an VB ASP.NET Web Application. In the bin directory are all our
compiled dlls.
We have written some integration with a 3rd party, which some of our
clients use and some that don't. Those that don't won't have a particular
dll in the bin directory of the web site.
However, removing this dll causes a problem because .Net seems to want to

Maybe someone can give an idea of why I am having this problem before I
put my fist through the computer screen.
My problem goes like this....
Lets say I keep my DLLs in a folder called "DLLS".
I have an asp.net application called "app" that references some of
these dlls.

Is it possible to have a DLL automatically include references to other DLL's
that it depends upon when it is added to a project?

Hi all,
I'm quite lost with how adding web references to a project creates proxy
classes.
I've developed a web service with two classes inside and that contains three
references to three DLLs. After building it up, I've deployed it on the web
server.
From my Windows application, I then add a web reference to that web service.

Hello,
Just created my first ASP.NET 2.0 project with Visual Studio 2005. I see
they changed some very important things. So, I have the follwoing questions:
1. How can I view and remove project references. I can add references from
the project menu, but where is reference "folder" which used to be in VS 2003
from which I could add or remove references.
2. I see that there's no bin folder, project still compiles and runs, that's

Hi everyone,
I've recently converted a solution to VS 2005 and .NET 2.0. from '03
and .NET 1.x. The solution has two Web sites in it, both of which need
to share each other's code. Previously, I had added a reference to the
compiled DLL of one project to the other, thereby allowing me to create
class instances and call functions.
Now, in 2005, I still have references to B.DLL in project A and A.DLL
in project B, but those DLLs...

Hi;
When we add a reference to a web app, where is that information
stored? There is no project file, it's not in the web.config or
solution file.
??? - thanks - dave

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
