Unable to debug asp.net app

I just installed VS 2003 and now trying to run the asp.net
application. But I get the message that "Unable to start debugging on
the web server. you do not have permissions to debug the server.
Verify that you are member of the debugger user group on the server.

I am user of this group. This is the a simple web app with just one
button, which does nothing. It was created by VS2003. Virtual
directory was created for me. I checked and virtual directory
settings are set to anonymous access with integrated windows
authentication. I am running this on WinXP. Any idea?

thanks

Hi, I am developing a Windows application with C# in Visual Stuio .NET. My application references three assemblies that are developed in another project. I have added these assemblies as references, so that when I compile the project, the dll files and corresponding pdb files are are automatically copied to the bin\debug directory of my application. When I look at the Modules window during debugging, it seems that the debug symbols for...

Hi everybody, My problem seems a bit clichè but I could not work around. Well I read lots of MSDN papers and discussions, but my problem is a bit different from them. When I tried to run the project in debug mode (by hitting F5) it gives an error message "Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server.

Hopefully someone may have some thoughts on this. I am unable to debug ASP .Net credentials on my laptop when I am not logged into my local domain. When I am at home I log in with my normal network credentials. When I attempt to debug I get the message "Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server". The webserver is on my machine. When I am at work everything works perfectly fine. The only...

I have a W2003 web server running many web applications. One of these uses remote debugging. It works perfectly. Today, I created a new asp.net project. I have 2 problems with it: 1 - Any error that occurs displays the generic "application error has ocurred" screen. It also says to enable real error messages to set, in web.config: <customErrors mode="Off" />

Hello, I'm using an executable (for which I do not have the source code nor the pdb file) as the startup application to load a DLL I'm writing and need to debug. If I try to debug the DLL I immediately get the error "Unable to start debugging. Unable to start program XXX.exe". If I do "Start without debugging" my startup application gets correctly executed. Is this problem due to the fact I'm missing the debugging information for the...

I've been having a problem debugging an ASP.NET 1.1 application on an existing Windows XP/Visual Studio 2003 workstation that I've inherited from somebody else. The application builds fine, but when I try to debug, it gives me the message: Error When Trying to Run Project: Unable to Start Debugging on the Web Server. Debugging failed because integrated Windows authentication is not enabled. Now, the obvious solution for this of course...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
