Ok, I've gotten somewhat handy with the new GridView.
And I have it bound to a business object datasource, via the
ObjectDataSource.
Lets say I have 3 databound columns
EmpID, LastName,FirstName
I have it working where.... If I click the Header, that it will sort based
on the Header I click.
I even have DESC working if they click the same column header twice.

I'm getting an error in the following scenario.
- A GridView control is bound to an SQLDataSource.
- The user selects a column for sorting.
- Some time later in code the column used for sorting is removed and the
SelectCommand SQL changed so that the field is not returned.
- When the GridView is redisplayed an error occurs because the
GridView.SortExpression is no longer a valid column.
The SortExpression property of the GridView...

I have a GridView control that I want to sort on multiple columns when I
click a particular column. For example, I display Last name + ", " + First
name in the first column and display id in the second column. When clicking
on the first column, I want the GridView to sort on LastName and FirstName.
Based on Microsoft's documentation of SortExpression property, all I have to
do is to set SortExpression=LastName,FirstName on the first column....

I want to know how to make a clickable button or Command field on a
GridView, and have the user's action a) fire a function and b) pass a data
value from one of the GridView's columns to that function.
Long version: ASP.NET's usual paradigm with master-detail editing is to have
you define a commandfield, and on your detail view to define a second
datasource that uses the SelectedValue of the GridView to determine what the
detail record...

Maybe I'm missing something, but in the Sorting event of the Gridview, the
GridViewSortEventArgs.SortDirection is always Ascending. I'm not sure why?

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to Atlas (and recently ASP.NET) after coming from a long
Java background, also have done quite a bit with an Ajax.NET/ASP.NET
1.1 project, but it was basically all javascript, nothing really having
to do with ASP.NET...
I'm attempting to put together an application that consists of several
GridView controls each bound to some xml data. Each table exists in
its own update panel. The two effects I'm going for are:

I have a vb.net 2.0 app that is loading a GridView with a DataSource that is

I used this example straight from msdn in a gridview that already sorts based on each column. For some reason I cannot get it to sort based on two sorting expressions. Is there some property of the grid view i have to set in order for this to work?

I have a GridView, in which the header of one column changes depending
on the selected value of a DropDownList outside of this GridView.
I did this dynamic header through
protected void GridView1_RowCreated(object sender,
GridViewRowEventArgs e)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
