Does anyone in here have experience setting up a very basic type of FTP site
on a Windows 2003 II6 Server? If so, I'd appreciate some help.
We have a dedicated web server which I can change at will and I would like
users who have the correct UID & PWD to be able to type something ftp://www.mywebsite.com/ftp/ in Windows Explorer and drag, drop, copy,
paste, delete, etc. files in this selected folder ("ftp").
I created a new FTP Site in IIS and I pointed this "site" to a folder in our
web site which is www.drpt.virginia.gov/ftp/ . I permitted a single user
account I created called "drpt-ftp" to have access to it and removed
anonymous access. When I type ftp://www.drpt.virginia.gov/ftp/ into Windows
Explorer, I'm told "the system cannot find the specified file". File?? Huh?
If I allow anonymous access, which seems like a real bad idea, I'm actually
prompted for a UID & PWD on the client side.

Hello,
My ASP.NET hoster has made a separate folder in my hosting space and
configured it as separate application in IIS. Further, I created "bin"
folder in this directory, and put in my aspx pages that all use code-behind.
All works fine, but I was dismayed finding out that is is possible to write
direct URL to an assembly in the bin folder, and IIS would allow to download
pure code. That's somewhat very worg, isn't it?

works for both the ASPNet machine account and for a different account if i
configure the ASP.Net process to run as an alternative account by altering

Hello All!
Can you dynamicly create a folder in ASP.net? Here is the set up. I have a
folder where I will store pics. What I would like to do is create a cookie,
track the user who has logged on to the site. If user deside to upload
pictures under thier profile, a subfolder under the images folder will be
created with the folder name as the users name. I would like to keep the pics
seperatred for each user.

OK, I know this sounds stupid, but I have been playing with this for
