Setting up a simple, single UID FTP folder in IIS6

Does anyone in here have experience setting up a very basic type of FTP site
on a Windows 2003 II6 Server? If so, I'd appreciate some help.

We have a dedicated web server which I can change at will and I would like
users who have the correct UID & PWD to be able to type something
ftp://www.mywebsite.com/ftp/ in Windows Explorer and drag, drop, copy,
paste, delete, etc. files in this selected folder ("ftp").

I created a new FTP Site in IIS and I pointed this "site" to a folder in our
web site which is www.drpt.virginia.gov/ftp/ . I permitted a single user
account I created called "drpt-ftp" to have access to it and removed
anonymous access. When I type ftp://www.drpt.virginia.gov/ftp/ into Windows
Explorer, I'm told "the system cannot find the specified file". File?? Huh?
If I allow anonymous access, which seems like a real bad idea, I'm actually
prompted for a UID & PWD on the client side.

Here's a screen shot of both sides:

I'm certainly no network admin so I'd appreciate any assistance. Thanks for
your help.

Hello, My ASP.NET hoster has made a separate folder in my hosting space and configured it as separate application in IIS. Further, I created "bin" folder in this directory, and put in my aspx pages that all use code-behind. All works fine, but I was dismayed finding out that is is possible to write direct URL to an assembly in the bin folder, and IIS would allow to download pure code. That's somewhat very worg, isn't it? What should I...

I have what I think is a simple question but I am finding nothing but complicated answers. I have a web site running on IIS6. One directory used to use an alternate account as the anonymous user (not the IUSR_ServerName account) to connect to a database, etc. Now the pages in that directory no longer do anything special and I just want to start using the default IUSR_ServerName account again. I put that account back in, but what do I...

OK, I know this sounds stupid, but I have been playing with this for hours, and could not get a clue. In my asp.net 2.0 web application, I generate charts on the fly. I would like to save the charts png images in a particular folder. So, I created a folder ChartImages under the root of my web application. Whenever I run the web application, I get a folder access is denied error.

When I have config files in nested folders, Attr1 and Attr2 of the CustomAuthSettings section correctly

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
