creating a new vs 2003 project based on another

I have a web application that is complete and published. I want to do some
major enhancements, but I want to start a new project so I can continue to
do maintenance on the current one without having all the new code scattered
throughout.

My question is the best way to do this...if i create a new project and add
in files from the old, all the .aspx page directives point to
"oldproject.pag ename.aspx" in the references attribute. I would have to go
in and change all these to make it work, which is out of the question.

I am sure there is a good established way to do this, I just can't figure
out what it is. Your help is appreciated!

Hi,

Based on my understanding, your question is: when you created a new 2003
web application, you copied webforms from another web application and want
to change the namespace in the webforms. Please correct me if I've
misunderstood anything.

I think you don't need to change the namespace in the webform. The only
thing you need to do is change the default namespace in your new web
application to the old namespace in your project properties. This way when
you add webform to it, the namespace is still the same.

You new web application has different virtual directory name with the old
one, it should run independently with the old web app.

Sincerely,

I've been creating some toy ASP.NET apps in an effort to understand the technology. I've something odd with regards to project/solution creation. If you create a new asp.net application, it appears that the project files get created in the URL specified Location field on the New Project dialog box. This makes sense to me. What is confusing is that the solution file gets created in a folder with the same name as the location folder (the...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
