Enter text or Select from the dropdownlist box in asp.net 2.0

Hi All,

I did create a dropdownbox and populate the data from the database.

I want the user able to enter the text or select data from the
dropdownlist box. When the user enter the text and if it match the data
in the dropdownlist box then those data will display.

I want to do something like, in the IE, where the user enter the world
wide web Address.

Please help.

Thanks in advance

I am populating a dropdownlist from SQL. The query returns the correct values (and no NULLs in any fields). The listitem.value is populated with an int ID field, and listitem.text with a varchar description field. The problem is, for some reason, I cannot access the numeric ID after item #5 in the dropdown box. After item #5, if I try to read...

Does anyone know it is possible to include a small image(.gif .jpeg) within a <SELECT><option> so that the user would see the option text as well as a little image(icon) in the option? I know this is not an ASP.NET related question, but I know this group is knowledgeable and quick with responses. Thanks
