gridview sorting help-

has anyone been able to sort a gridview without using a sqlobjectdataso urce
or typed dataset? My problem is that my method to bind my datagrid takes
parameterts from dropdowns, then the user clicks go and the grid binds.

example:

void GetSales(string strLastname
{

DataSet dsSales;

dsSales = CarSales.GetSal esForSalesman(s trLastname);

dg.DataSource = dsSales;

dg.DataBind();

}

Now, I can get the code (in the below URL) working on my pages that is doing
a direct pull, but not ones that are using params to load the grid.
Is there a way to sort the gridivew without a datasource object and bind the
gridview using parameters?

For some reason when I enable the callback feature of the gridview I still get a page refresh, that is it seems like there is a postback that occurs, not a callback which is just supposed to update not the whole page, but a portion of the page. Strangely enough the URL below http://beta.asp.net/QUICKSTARTV20/aspnet/doc/ctrlref/data/gridview.aspx (VB GridView Paging and Sorting Callbacks example)

I have a an aspx page with a gridview. The gridview is data bound to a generic list of custom classes. The gridview's DataSource is thus not set. Now I want to add sorting to it. So I create an eventhandler thus: Protected Sub grdResult_Sorting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewSortEventArgs) Handles grdResult.Sorting

Hello, I want to implement a generic list which will be used to display 7 columns in a GridView. One should be able to sort, filter and page each of the 7 columns. Ideally the filter should be implemented simultaneously for multiple columns - but the data need only be sorted by a single column at a time. Sorting should be both ascending and descending. I'm currently using a DataView but it's far too slow, because there are a large...

I have a GridView control with three columns, all BoundField columns. They all have a HeaderText and DataField property set, and the third one has a DataFormatString property as well. When I run my code, the GridView displays two sets of columns. The first set looks exactly as I would expect. The second set, which should not be there anyway, uses the DataField as the header and does not apply the DataFormatString for the third column. What...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
