.NET Framework 2.0 configuration snapin is missing from list of avail snapins?

On a new win2003 Standard install, I installed IIS and ASP.NET.

I then installed .NET Framework 2.0 from MS Updates.

In the management console, I've added in a .NET Configuration 1.1 snapin.

But, I don't see the .NET 2.0 Framework Configuration snapin (in the list of
available snapins).

How can I resolve this?

You can find it in "Start Menu", "Programs", "Administra tive Tools" flyout menu.

Actually, I think you have to install the .NET Framework 2.0 Software
Development Kit (SDK) (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
to get the snapin now, at least on win2003

Hmmm... right.

I *always* install the SDK, in order to get the samples/tools installed.
I assumed that anybody serious about developing for ASP.NET did the same.

But, you're right, I should have specified.

Thanks.

Juan - Yes, those are great for a development box (I think Visual Studio 2005
may have installed that for me), but this is a production server. I'll have to
test in vmWare to see how to install just the parts I want.

re:

There's nothing wrong with installing the SDK in a production server.
You can always get rid of the virtual directories and delete the files you don't use.

That probably will be easier to do than investing in research
to see whether you can install the SDK by bits and pieces.

Good luck!

The following commandline (that is one single...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
