Hi,
I have a combo box(cmboParts) and the row source is a part name. Once
a part is selected I have button(cmdOrderAdd) to add data about this
part to a sub-form(frmParts_Ordered). However this sub-form does not
have the field PartName. Instead it has a field called PartCode.
Therefore i have had to set up a QBE to find PartCode(both PartName
and PartCode are in the same table 'tblPart') and this will be used in
the code for the button.

I am trying to resolve a problem I'm experiencing in Access 2000.
I have an unbound control which is set be code on the open event of a
form. However when I try to subsequently run some code which references
the value in the unbound control, the code cannot see the value set. If
however I manually type in the value into the unbound control the code
works fine.
I have tried to Refresh and Repaint the form, but this does not solve

work related) and the form was working, but now when I try to repeat the
code at home (for real) it won't work. I suspect that I haven't

backend. One of the tables contains a field with an "OLE Object"
datatype. I'm writing some reports against this database, and I
believe this field contains data I need. When I view the table in
datasheet view, all I can see in this field is the string "Long

Would the experts please indicate how to pass unbound control data to a query?
When I pass a bound field from a combo box to my select query, everything is fine; when I change the combo box to an unbound box (so that the underlying table is not updated with a new record) the query receives an empty string.
Incidentally, is there a wizard in ACC2003 for creating a query using a control from a form? That would be delicious.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
