I have created a ASP.NET 2.0 websevrice on a server and I want to secure it
with Windows authentication
The web service is in a Vritual Directory.
I have add a Windows user to the server.
I have set the security to Integrated Windows Authentication and removed
anonymous access
I have set Perimissons on the folder for full control to the web service
folder.
I am accessing the service in a win forms app
This is code I am using
Dim mycredentialCac he As CredentialCache = New CredentialCache ()
' Create a new instance of NetworkCredenti al using the client
' credentials.
Dim credentials As NetworkCredenti al = New _
NetworkCredenti al("user", "password", "")
' Add the NetworkCredenti al to the CredentialCache .
mycredentialCac he.Add(New Uri(tWeb.Url), "Basic", _
credentials)
' Add the CredentialCache to the proxy class credentials.
tWeb.Credential s = mycredentialCac he
ds = tWeb.GetData(ls tTables.Selecte dItem.ToString, txtCount.Text,
txtSort.Text, txtWhere.Text)
But I get HTTP 401 Unauthorized message.
Any ideas??? 0 847 This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I want to authorise a user of a web service by using the AuthHeaderValue for
some reason I keep getting a null reference exception when I try to run the
following code: It seems to work fine on a .NET Framework application, but
just not on the .NET CF version.
Can anyone suggest anything that might be wrong with the code? (I could
post the app and webservice, but i was hoping that you might have noticed

Hi Everyone,
I have a Visual C++ MFC program, and I am trying to use a webservice written
in C#. When I add the webservice to my project using Add Web Reference the
sproxy compiler complains about one of the object wanting to extend
MarshalByRefObject object, and I get an error SDL1030.
I can use the webservice in a C# project just fine but not the C++.
Can anyone help me out with this?

Hello,
I am trying to secure a webservice using WSE 3.0 and the turnkey
usernameForCertificateSecurity profile. I am passing a valid username
token, and on the server I have overridden the Authenticate token
call
and it is being called. My ASP.NET service has a Login() method and
it is being called during client application startup. Both the client
and service have matching policy config files. Once authentication

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
