Hi CS,

Thank you for posting.

As for the web setup project, do you mean the setup project in Visual
Studio 2005 or 2003? Anyway, based on my research, both vs 2003 and vs
2005's web setup project contains a "productNam e" property which can be
modified at design-time after the project is created. You can just select
the project node in VS IDE's solution explorer and then in the properties
Window you can find the "ProductNam e" property which can be modified. In
addition, you can also change the setup project's output file name in the
project properties by start the "Project -----> Properties" menu and
configure the "Output filename" setting in the popup dialog.

Hope this helps.

I created a VB.NET application, together with an associated installation project, and in the installation project I specified the ProductName. But when I run the application, if I try to retrieve the ProductName using Application.ProductName, it always returns an empty string. I've looked under Solution Properties, but haven't found anything. How do I get Application.ProductName to return the application product name? Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to create an installer for my web application. So I added a web setup project to my solution (I am using VS.NET 2003). Been playing around with it since then and it basically works. Now, I am wondering if there is any way to change the directory that the installer installs the files to. I want to be able to put my files in a specified directory (user specified is good, but i don't mind hardcoding the path either) and...

I'm trying to finalize my setup file and I'm having an annoying problem... the ProductName property of the setup project is overriding the VirtualDirectory property of my web application folder. I need to have the version number appear on the install wizard, so the ProductName is set to "FooBar 2.0.0". I don't want the friggin version number included in the virtual directory name after its installed, so I set the VirtualDirectory...

Hi, I want to change the default installation folder to my own path. I did it by changing the application folder's DefaultLocation property. The installation works fine as long the path that I give is complete path. If I give relative path, there is an error. The path is relative to the location of my solution folder. Just to be more clear, I have several projects in my solution. The setup project contains one executable as the primary...

Hello, friends, In our c#.net 2005 project, I clicked on project property. At application tab of property page, clicked on Assembly Information... button, All boxes were left blank, including Product text box, Run the app, checked value of Application.ProductName, and there was a value for this property! I thought this value was defined in Product text box mentioned above, but,
