I have two datasets with the same schema, each of which has some
datarows. After i merge them into one datset i found that there were
some duplicate rows in these rows.then how can i remove the duplicate

I am trying to merge two xml files based on common date/time and then write out a tab-delimited xml file with the header record from one of the input files concatenated in front of the merged detail records in the output file. The version I have is close to what I need except it concatenates two sets of header records in front of each merged detail record and the first two lines in the file and the last line is blank. Can someone please...

My database is set up so people can input parts orders. Sometimes they order the same parts on a monthly basis. I want to be able to duplicate past parts orders and have it pasted in with a new primary key. My first attempt seemed to work(minus a few Microsoft glitches). I used a "duplicate" command button at first. This made a copy of the record but failed to bump up the primary key by 1 number(so it seemed). Actually, the number did...

Normally when I use the Adaptor update function and it work fine but sometimes I get a "duplicate entry" error after the merge. I believe the problem is because the primary key is modified and the merge function is unable compensate for this event. I see three possible solutions to this problem. One being not to let them update the key which is not an option. Two being to determine if the key has changed and refilling the entire dataset...

I'm developing an VB.NET Windows Forms application that uses CR for VS.NET (original version shipped with VS.NET 2002 - my VS.NET has the latest SP installed, no SPs for CR). My reports get their data from ADO.NET Datasets that are pre-populated by other modules of the application. What I need to do is to use these datasets as the datasources of my reports. Fine, I know how to do that and it works perfectly on my development box. The...

Since I can't get answer from the author, can someone address this? In this article . . . http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/04/05/DataPoints/default.aspx In the "The Transaction and Sequence" paragraph, the author makes this statement: "The row is left with different original and current values so that when I merge the delta DataSet with the originating DataSet, they will sync with

Hi Allan, I'm using a nifty piece of code you put on here some time back to do a duplicate entry check as below. I'm using to check for duplicate names. However I am getting an error message on this line: Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("SELECT ID FROM Contacts WHERE (" & sWhere & ");") Contacts being the main table. I am using access 2003 The error message states that there are; Too few parameters. Expected 1 I have no idea how to...

I have a data table that is connected to a database table with a data adapter in the 'standard' manner. However I want to be able to remove selected rows from the data table (i.e. no longer include them in the set that is displayed to the user) but I don't want to delete the corresponding row from the database. I've tried using the .Rows.Remove() method but an exception is thrown to say I don't have a 'delete' command in the data...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
