Is there some way to persist the header when a GridView control has no rows
containing data?

Thanks,

You can subclass the GridView and add this to OnDataBound:
this.Controls.A dd(new Table());
GridViewRow header = this.CreateRow( 0, -1, DataControlRowT ype.Header,
DataControlRowS tate.Normal);
DataControlFiel d[] fields = new DataControlFiel d[this.Columns.Co unt];
this.Initialize Row(header, fields);
((Table)this.Co ntrols[0]).Rows.Add(head er);

Noticed something:

this.Controls.A dd(new Table());
GridViewRow header = this.CreateRow( 0, -1, DataControlRowT ype.Header,
DataControlRowS tate.Normal);
DataControlFiel d[] fields = new DataControlFiel d[this.Columns.Co unt];

this.Columns.Co pyTo(fields, 0);

this.Initialize Row(header, fields);
((Table)this.Co ntrols[0]).Rows.Add(head er);

Hello, I am using ASP.NET 2.0. What I have done is nested a gridview inside another column of a gridview using a template data field column declaritively in my web form. Inside this child gridview I have set an ItemStyle property of width 20% for the first templated field which contains a hyperlink control, and an ItemStyle of width 80% for the second templated field which contains a label. Both of these controls are databound to...

Hello I'm in the middle of trying to build an "AD phone book", and this being my first try at asp.net, I have a few questions that I hope some of you might be able to help with: 1. Is it correct, that PageSize equals the max size of the result set? 2. Is there a way to make asp cache the search result, so the domain controller won't be to bother by all the lookups, and also to speed up

Hello, I have a GridView in my page which is created in runtime. It works fine. My page has 2 Asp Buttons: - The HIDE button makes GridView.Visible = False; - The SHOW button makes GridView.Visible = True. I press HIDE and the GridView disappears as expected. After it I press SHOW and the GridView doesn't show.

Dear Friends/Gurus, I have exhausted myself and have yet no solution to the following: I have an ASP.NET 2.0 Survey type application. On a page, I have placed a GridView which is bound to an SQLDataSource. The GridView contains 3 columns: QuestionNumber, QuestionText, and a TemplateField. Each row in the GridView represents a question in a table (Ex.: "18. Satisfaction Level").

Hi - This could be a simple question. When I relate two tables in a datasetet, how do I get that relation to show up in a GridView? The only way I've done it, is to create a separate table in the dataset with a join query for the GetData() select method. I use ObjectDataStore to couple the GridView with the table adapter on the dataset. If I point the ODS at the child table, the GridView will bind to the "normal" select and I end up...

Something like this: http://fredrik.nsquared2.com/viewpost.aspx?PostID=344&showfeedback=true The second page is a user control that contains a GridView control linked to a database table. What's supposed to happen is that the user clicks on a menu choice and an appropriate user control will load. For...

Hi all, I have a form with an input radio control in a template field. When the user selects an option, and press a button the selection disappears.. I would like the selection to persist after the button makes the postback, I tried using the findcontrol but it returns null, and do not know how to make sure that the radio selected persist after the button action makes the postback.

The PagerSettings.Visible property is not being handled properly by the GridView control. The value assigned to this property is not applied until after a postback. Simplest test : .aspx containing a single gridview - enable paging and give enough data to page. add checkbox with auto postback enable add button with auto postback enable in the GridView1_PreRender method add the following : GridView1.HeaderRow.Enabled =

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
