my 2.0 menu control has this root node which I want to hide

normally the showrootnode property is set to false on the sitemapdatasour ce

so I cannot figure out how to not display the root node only child nodes?

Back in the old days before I started learning about menubars (the day before yesterday,) I based all my operations on command buttons on the forms. Now the forms are all cluttered up with buttons so I'm beginning to clean it up using menubars. So far, I haven't used ANY macros. But some some websites, as well as my book, seems to indicate that it is necessary to base the menubar on a macro with each menu's first instruction being...

I want to introduce a special "Admin" menu item into my WinForms app. It'll normally be hidden but activated by a special key-sequence. To make it more visible to a user (ex. while talking with a support person on the phone) I thought of shifting it several centimetres to the right of the "Help" menu item. The only way I could think to do this was to add a special spacer menu item in between Help and Admin. It works but I'm wondering...

How does one specify the Escape key as an accelerator? My client has specified that the Escape key be used as an accelerator for a particular menu item. In VS05's designer mode, this particular key is not available as an option to select from the menu item's properties ShortcutKeys item. "No problem," says I to myself (I talk to myself. It's the only way I can have an intelligent conversation around here. Or at least a coherent one, but...

Hi, I used a template for my first Web application. I made a few changes to the layer thru its css file. The problem that has been vexing me is the vertical spacing for each navigation menu item. If I do not set the verticalpadding property, the items are rendered too close to one another. However, when I set the verticalpadding property, I get the spacing that I want but the selectable area within each item is the exact height of...

Tkinter definitely deserves more respect! I'm making rapid progress and it looks good. But am stuck on this: I want the File/Save state to change from disabled to enabled, depending on whether or not there is something to save (Text modified). Google returns results in every language except Python. Sub problems: how to change state of menu item? how to detect changes in Text widget?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
