Can ASP.NET 2.0 Website Administration Tool be packaged with an application

Thanks

Probably not. There seems to be a number of problems getting this to work
remotely.

Thanks Eric, that code was just what I was looking for. Now if I can only get
it to work on my hosted site (works locally but I get "That assembly does not
allow partially trusted callers" when trying to run Atlas (ajax) on the
hosted server).

I applied aspnet_regsql to SQL2K which was working fine throughout Beta 2
development. After installing Visual Studio and SQL Express RTM my
application has blown up. Logging in to the application became
realllllllllllly slow. Content in LoginView Role Groups was not displaying
even after a user in a role had logged in.
It was taking about 15 seconds or so for the login control to display when
the login link was selected on the homepage....

When I try to run the Website Administration Tool from my published
application using
http://localhost/myapp/webadmin.axd
I am getting a "resource not found" error message. I can use the Admin
tool from the IDE however.
I noticed some people referring to a directory called
c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_webadmin\, which i do not have on my system.

I just tried to manage individual pages using the website
administration tool, but instead of seeing the individual pages I only
see individual folders when looking at my website via the tool. How do
I set access roles using this utility for individual pages?
This is what I do:
1) From VS: WebSite > ASP.Net Configuration
2) Click the 'security" link on the WebSite Administration main page,
3) Click "create access rules" on the page...

Thanks for any suggestions on this.

When I run the asp.net website administration tool from Visual Studio,
and click the Security tab, I always get that it cannot connect to sql
server. What if I want to use Active Directory? Shouldn't there be an
option for that?
I know I have seen the Active Directory option online in many
tutorials. I am guessing I clicked something wayback that turned that
option off. How do I get that option back? Thank you for any help.

Can I use the Website Administration tool to manage users and roles for
multiple ASP.NET applications using a single, common ASPNETDB?
If so, what changes do I have to make to the web.config files for these
various applications to allow authentication from that single ASPNETDB.
I'd also like to be able to maintain the users/roles and application access
from the web server rather than from my development computer. Right now it
seems...

Hi everyone,
I'm in the middle of creating a website with VS2008 and I'm trying to integrate a user registration/login section on the website but I've come up against a small problem. I've configured the database and set up a test user through the ASP.NET Website Administration Tool (Website ASP.NET Configuration), I've created a user registration page and a user login page but when I try to...

I understand the concept of the WAT tool for ASP.NET. It seems to work well
when used from a developer PC and launching thru Visual Studio 2005, etc.
The coolness of Membership, Roles, etc., quickly fade as I try and deploy a
website using these technologies....
I have inhereted a website that I need to host that contained a bunch of
pre-compiled web pages and assemblies using .NET 2.0.
The author said that I need to run the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
