How can I databind a gridview to more than one control?

Hi, I have a gridview. I have a dropdown. When the dropdownlist
changes the datasource in the gridview looks for the dropdownlist value
and changes according.

What if I want an either/or situation? I also want a textbox on the
same form with a button. If the user puts data in the textbox and
clicks search that same gridview populates based upon the value.

But how do I put them on the same page with the same gridview?

Thank you for any help.

Hi, I have a gridView (grid1), which as a templateColumn. In the template column, I have put in a gridView (grid2) and a ObjectDataSource (objectDataSource2). Question is... How to I pass the current_row_key of Grid1... to the objectDataSource2 parameter? (so that the second grid, gets only the information to do with current row of grid1)

Following Mr Tabors Video on Databinding I implemented the following code In GridViewSelectedIndexChange I coded DetailsView1.pageindex = gridview1.selectedindex This works fine for the first page of the binding, but once thr gridview re-arranges - the formview only ever sees in effect the rowdisplayedindex

I am having problems getting a gridview to bind to custom objects under any non-full trust level. I created a test project to verify what I am seeing isn't a side effect of other code in my project and I get the same errors there: Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.

Simply question How can I DataBind() a DataViewManager to a GridView in ASP.NET? Question in Detail We have a DataSet with relational DataTables (total of 5). We are generating emails with user specific data, so instead of going back to the DB for every user, we are getting all data once and filtering on the DataSet per user (most data overlaps users so this seems like a good strategy). Our main GridView has child GridView controls...

I have a GridView as a child control in a custom composite control which is stubornly refusing to databind at design time. I'm convinced I must be missing something about how the databinding process works differently at design time. Here is the code that constructs the GridView in CreateChildControls(): gridSearch = new GridView(); gridSearch.AutoGenerateColumns = true; CommandField cmdField = new CommandField();

I have a user control that uses a lookup table to populate. When the user clicks the loopup icon for building, a list of items they can choose from appears. How could I populate the same control below based on what they choose. So once they select a building, I want them to only see those rooms associated with that building. I have a building table and a room table with an associated bldg id. Here's how the controls read: <tr> ...

Hi I have a FormView control within a UserControl. After I DataBind I need to change the CurrentMode depending on a value from the ObjectDataSource Select method. When I do this the FormView DataBinds again. Also in the first DataBound event the controls are null so I have to check for null even though I know they are there. I would prefer not to call my select method twice. Also the first databound event seems pointless.

I have an GridView on one page that will open a popup for the selected record. I've been told that there is a way that when the popup record is updated the GridView can be refreshed or Databind. I've been looking for the answer with no luck. I'm probably just not asking the question correctly. Thanks for any assistance.

I have standard gridview in an updatePanel with an AJAX timer that refreshes the data every 5 seconds by calling the grids DataBind method in the tick event. This works great. However, I have a checkbox on the web page which when checked I want to hide some rows. The code that does the hiding is in the RowDataBound event where I do a bunch of other stuff. This way every time the data is updated the rows are correctly displayed or hidden....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
