Tricky Problem. Possible to modify response object?

Don't ask me why, but I have a situation where a "<base href="..."
value has been set for all my pages, but under certain situations I
don't want it to have an effect. Therefore, I was hoping that I could
use a HTTPModule or the Global.asax to remove or modify the base href
value when my conditions are met.

I've been doing a bit of reading on usenet, and usually the simple
solution would be to include a literal custom control in the HEAD
section to set the the value of the base href when and how I like.
However, in my situation the base href was set by a 3rd party
component, and hence I cannot insert/access any objects to change it.

Therefore, does anyone know:
(a) If there is a way to do some kind of find & replace operation on
the response object; or
(b) Any other solutions that might solve my problem?

ps Please reply to the group as this email address won't work...

Thanks,
Caleb.

You can use Response.Filter property to send all output through the filter
witch will strip it out.

Hi, I've created a little site for my sports club. In the root folder there are pages that are viewable by every anonymous user but at a certain subfolder my administration pages should be protected by forms authentication. When I create forms authentication at root level it works but when I move my code up to the subfolder I get this error: Server Error in '/TestProjects/FormsAuthenticationTestingArea' Application.

Hi, been a while since I posted a question myself instead of trying to help others out. I'm refactoring an existing web app that uses dynamic loading of user controls and a lot of response.redirects to the same page. Because I hate the overhead by doing this I'm searching for a cleaner option. But I'm having troubles (off course or I wouldn't be posting this).

Hey all, Working on revamping our Intranet here and making use of the LDPA, Active Directory, Directory Services, etc. that .Net provides. I am still fairly new on this subject, so the problem I have run into I am not sure how to fix, and really not sure what is causing it. Here's what is going on (test server - Windows 2003 Server): I have a page in a folder (under anonymous authentication in IIS6) that has a link on it that...

I'm currently using ASP.NET with VS2003 and SQL Server 2003. The ASP.NET app i have made is running on IIS v6 and consists of a number of pages that allow the user to read information from the database into classes, which are used throughout the application. I have made class collections which, upon reading from the DB, create an instance of the class and store the DB values in there temporarily. My problem is that if user1 looks at...

We are working on a distributed VB.Net application which will access a SQL database located on a known server. Each client will run on the user's local machine. To implement this, we are trying to use remoting for our access to the SQL server, with the remoting being via IIS. Since all of our users will have accounts in the destination domain, we want to have IIS handle the security for us and not allow anonymous. We have set this up...

Hi friends This is sweatha, fresher MCA 2007 batch. Right now I am working in asp.net platform. My dillema is that I have created a registration form with the fields as username & password. And if once the user register the username and password, it will be stored in the database(SQL Server 2000) by showing "Records Inserted". Then I have created the login form just like the fields as username and password. And if the user enters the values...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
