Hi there,
I've created a master page with some controls on it, a Calendar control
among others. Now depending on the date(s) selected, the content page needs
to be updated. In the masterpage I've created StartDate and EndDate
properties, which are basically wrappers around the SelectedDates property
from the Calendar control.
When I select another date in the Calendar, the page updates normally, but
when Page_Load for the content page...

I'm creating an application that has a standard layout for all pages.
The information that is displayed in the layout will be dynamic based
on the user that is logged in. Thus when a page is browsed to, I need
to check to see if the user has logged in or not. Then if they have
logged in, I need to pull their information from the database to
display in the header.
In previous applications, I made use of a base web page that all the...

Hi all,
I'm using the ASP.NET sitemappath control and the ASP.NET menu control This
sitemappath control works and shows the path when the page doesn't have an
anchor - for example:
<siteMapNode title="annual report" description="Annual report"
url="Pages/ir_annuals.aspx" />
but the sitemappath control doesn't show the path if the page has the url

Again another simple concept that appears NOT to be intuitive or I'm just
stupid. I've read the WROX book and the example doesn't actually show how
the .master page links in the other content pages? Kinda sorta a critical
point no?
Am I missing something?
Rob.
P.S. the day I find a book that actually is useful rather than just a

Hello,
Here's my scenario:
I have a simple contact form set up where the user can choose how they
wish to be contacted from a list of options presented in a Select box
(DropDownList). Depending on what they choose, a panel will be made
visible with more form fields relating to that option. So, e.g., if
they choose "email" then a panel with a text box for entering the email
address appears.

Currently I have a FP2003 site using Dynamic Web Templates. I plan to
use VS
to design a series of master pages to replace the DWTs. Does anyone
know if there is an automated mechanism to extract the body from the
DWT pages and drop it into then new
master pages?
I imagine it's a process very similar to the way you can select a plain
site, then choose to attach the DWTs in one shot.

I am using VS.NET 2008.
In Dreamweaver you can create page templates (equivalent to Master Pages)
and make HTML documents based on them.
In VS.NET can you have a HTML file linked to a Master Page?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
