Use of ApplicationID vs Profile attribute as a foreign key to a ClientID

I am looking for advice on usage of the ApplicationId
(aspnet_Applica tions table) to distinguish groups clients within the
same app. When I add a new client group I'd like to limit their view of
the system to just their own group. So calls to the Business & Data
Access layers will look for some client ID. Does it make sense to store
a client group ID fk (ie GUID) in the User's profile (aspnet_Profile
table) or use the Application ID that the user is defined to & create a
new application for each client group?

Hope this makes some sense - thanks in advance.

Regards,
DG

Is there a way during Page_Load to change or add an attribute to the Body tag? I want to be able to change the onLoad body attribute to do a focus on one of my text boxes, such as: onLoad="document.forms.txtLogon.focus();" The problem is I have my <body> in an include file and want to set the onLoad attribute during Page_Load time.

Dear Friends, I was just wondering if there was a method by which I can get/check the existancy of an Application (aspnet_Applications table) in ASP.NET 2.0 using the applicationID instead of the ApplicationName? In essence, I want to pass the ApplicationID instead of the ApplicationName and veryify whether it exists or not. I want to do this so users of our system who sign up for our subscription service cannot guess the name of the...

Hello to all and thanks for answer to my topics. I made one stored procedure that delete one table, but when call/execute the procedure this show SQL0532N A parent row cannot be deleted because the relationship "TXN_TRANSACTION.FK_SCLI " restricts the deletion. As most of us probably know, ASP.NET controls do not use an exact copy of a control's ID for the HTML element's name or id attribute. When generating JavaScript as part of a control or event, we need to have a way to reference the HTML elements. The only way I have found to reference the HTML elements in my generated Javascript is the following: "document.getElementById('" & Me.ctrl.ClientID & "')" However, this seems like a lot of...

Kinda new to SQL, using SQL Server 2005. I have some foreign keys in a couple of tables. I need to drop these tables, but can't since I'll get the error: Msg 3726, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Could not drop object 'Client' because it is referenced by a FOREIGN KEY constraint.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
