I just loaded VS2003 on a new machine and when I try to create a ASP.NET app
or Web Service, I get the following error:
"Visual Studio could not create or open application because your browser is
configured to use a proxy server for the local server"
In IE, there is nothing that I can see referencing any proxy and I don't
connect to the internet with a proxy. The machine is brand new, so i know
it's not some old registry setting or...

I am working on a project converting a DLL originally written in C++ using
Visual Studio 97 accessing a SQL 6.5 data base to VS.Net 2003 and SQL Server
2000. I would very much appreciate any suggestions and/or references to
good sources for information about issues I am likely to encounter along the
way.
My immediate issue, however, is that after opening the old project and
accepting the conversion to VS2003, a build fails with five...

Using the supplied step-by-step tutorial 'dispsink' i was able to create and
build both the client and the server. The build process (apparently)
registered the components as I could fine the entries with regedit.
However, using VS menu Tools, Active X Container, then selecting Edit,
Insert New Control the name of the control does not show in the list.
I tried re-registering using File, Register... and I can see the control in
that...

Hello,
I have a dll which do some number crunching. Performances (execution
speed) are very important in my application. I use VC6 to compile the
DLL.
A friend of mine told me that in Visual studio 2003 .net optimization
were enhanced and that i must gain in performance if I switch to VS
2003 or intel compiler. So I send him the project and he returned a
compiled DLL with VS 2003.
Result : the VS 2003 compiled Dll is slower than the VC6...

I have both VS2002 and VS2003 installed on the same
machine and have no problems creating an ASP.NET
application in VS2003. When I try to create one in VS2003
I get an "internal server error". If I open Windows
Explorer, and create a new folder under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot
and then open IIS Manager and set the folder property to
CREATE I can then create a ASP.NET appliaction in that
folder. Any ideas as to what I need to do to get VS2003...

Hi All,
I'm having some difficulties with vs2003 and w2k3. The w2k3 Web
Edition install is totally new in a VMWare box. I have added ASP.NET
v1.1.4322 to the config and allowed it in Web Service Extensions,
along with WebDAV. I have a entry in hosts with music -> 192.168.0.152
(server). When I try to create a new C# web project using file share
in the root web, I get a message box with the message "Error writing
project file. The network...

I currently have VS2003 .net 1.1 installed with a number of 1.1 projects
built in it. All of these projects create the /bin dll for deployment and
have been running on remote servers that have the 1.1 framework installed. If
I install Visual Web Developer Express Edition 2005 on my machine, it will
install the .net 2.0 framework. When I go back and open up the 1.1 projects
in VS2003 and deploy them again creating the /bin dll, will they...

I have a solution that is in development under VS2003 and has been 'ported'
to VS2005. The painful experience of running this newer version of VS
revolves around one form. This form is very dense in controls and has
difficulty in VS2003 when changes were being made to the form in question
( as if the entire code behind was being rewritten adding the new lines of
code behind -- albiet very predictable and stable ). The experience is
VS2005...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
