Can you do a search for more that one string in another string?
Something like:
someString.IndexOf("something1","something2","something3",0)
or would you have to do something like:
if ((someString.IndexOf("something1",0) >= 0) ||
((someString.IndexOf("something2",0) >= 0) ||

Ok,
My program has been formating .txt files for input into sql server and
ran into a problem...the .txt is an export from an accounting package
and is only supposed to contain comas (,) between fields in a
table...well, someone has been entering description fields with comas
(,) in the description and now it is splitting between one
field...example:
"santa clause mushrooms, pens, cups and dolls"
I somehow need to NOT split anything...

Hallo,
I have promised Jay B yesterday to do some tests.
The subject was a string evaluation that Jon had send in. Jay B was in doubt
what was better because there was a discussion in the C# newsgroup on 25
September. The regular expressions where in that newsgroup too involved.
I told yesterday night, to Jay that I would test all 4 methods and the
stupid method I was thinking of the first time that night when I saw Jon's

Hi!
If I enter a name in textbox ("John Doe") for example,
how do I remove "John" If I click on command button to do so.
The point is to cut off first name and save it to array so only a last name
stays in textbox.
tnx

Good Day,
I have written and utility to convert our DOS COBOL data files to a SQL
Server database. Part of the process requires parsing each line into a
sql statement and validting the data to keep the integrity of the
database. We are parsing roughl 81 files and range in size 1 kb to 65
MB files (Average of 400,000 lines in the larger files).
I have written this utility with VB.NET 2003 and when I parse all of
the files I run out...

Does anyone know why the string contains function always returns true
if the token is an empty string? I expected it to return false.
"AnyOldText".Contains("")
or
"AnyOldText".Contains(String.Empty)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
